Improving Safety on Construction Sites

The Winnipeg Construction Association has worked diligently to improve safety on construction sites. With this value, we administer the Construction Safety Association of Manitoba (CSAM) – an association under the umbrella of the WCA that offers safety training, advice, and certification programs for the entire construction community.

constructionsafetyCSAM is governed by the Winnipeg Construction Association`s Board of Directors, as well as the CSAM Advisory Committee. CSAM works closely with the Workers Compensation Board and the Province of Manitoba’s Workplace Safety, and Health Branch to promote safe work practices and procedures in the entire construction industry.

CSAM is also a participating member of the Canadian Federation of Construction Safety Associations and have authority to grant COR™ Certification (national safety-program accreditation) within Manitoba.

CSAM objectives are to:

  • Provide information regarding accident prevention methods and changes to health and safety regulations
  • Develop resources, tools and training programs to enable contractors to meet their legislated responsibilities
  • Guide the industry to establish comprehensive safety programs tailored to individual company needs
  • Act as authority with jurisdiction to grant COR™ Certification & Small Employer COR™ Certification

CSAM is located in the same office as the Winnipeg Construction Association at 1447 Waverley Street.
