The Gold Seal Certification program is a nationally recognized certification for construction project managers, superintendents, estimators, and owner’s project managers. Education is a cornerstone of the Gold Seal Certification program and one of the many reasons it is such a highly-respected certification program in the Canadian construction industry. In addition to minimum education requirements, certification is based on the candidate’s experience and their ability to satisfy the standards of the program, including completion of a Gold Seal exam.
What is Gold Seal? How do I apply and where do I start? Join me for a one hour information session, and you will learn all you need to know about the Gold Seal Certification process. GS is an individual certification for Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators and Construction Safety Coordinators.
Beginning on January 1, 2017, all Gold Seal applicants will be required to take an Industry Ethics course. There are two components for this course, 1 online component and 1 classroom component, for a total of 3 credits. Registration for both courses are located on the WCA website under upcoming courses and e-learning. The next available Industry Ethics classroom session will be in the fall.
In addition to the new required courses, beginning on January 1, 2017 Intern Applications will cost $100, with an additional $500 due when you’re ready to challenge the exam.
Winnipeg Construction Association (WCA) is a supporter of the Gold Seal program and attempts to make every effort possible to have all of its qualifying courses Gold Seal accredited. WCA also acts in an intake capacity, pre-screening applications prior to applicants registering online.
