Member Services and Education Overview
The Winnipeg Construction Association seeks to provide a very wide range of services to its members from helping them navigate the maze of government regulations, to professional and staff development through regular education seminar offerings, to construction related services that save time and money.
We can give you countless reasons to join WCA, but here are our top three:
Construction is said to be the most highly regulated industry in Canada and it can be a constant battle to stay up to speed. How do we help you? WCA is always at the table during the development of new legislation and regulation and we work hard to ensure that your interests are represented and that your concerns are heard. We also offer frequent updates on regulation changes and provide a regular series of seminars to help you and your staff understand how complex legislation such as Employment Standards, Builders’ Lien, and Workplace Safety applies in our industry. Winnipeg Construction Association continues to be very active on a number of boards and councils, including the Manitoba Labour Board, Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba, the Advisory Council on Workplace Safety and Health, Construction Industry Wages Act panel, and the Manitoba Building Standards Board.

Planroom Service
WCA operates Manitoba’s largest Planroom. A dedicated staff is focused on reporting all types of construction opportunities in Manitoba including public, private, construction management, design build, sub-trade requests, RFP and any and all ICI work. Members have viewing and borrowing privileges of all hard-copy sets.
Online Planroom
Tired of driving around looking for the latest addenda? Since 2001, WCA’s Planroom has been accessible 24/7 via our exclusive, member-only Online Planroom. Accessed anywhere Internet service is available, WCA’s Online Planroom is used by 75 per cent of members daily. With this convenient service, you can enjoy realtime access to new addenda, plans, specifications, tender awards and planholder lists in an easy-to-use, searchable system. Download and print specs or drawings in your office, add your company to a bidders’ list, or book a set of paper drawings – it’s all available Online. Learn how to use these features, and many more, during our regularly scheduled training orientations.
Manitoba Construction News
Interested in information about projects coming out next week or two months from now? As a WCA member, you will receive weekly electronic copies of Manitoba Construction News, our exclusive “prebid” project information report. MCN provides members with a detailed description of the hundreds of projects not yet out for tender – regardless of whether they are private or public. Each report details project size, value, type, design team, owner and proposed tender and construction schedules.
CCDC / CCA Documents and Forms
WCA offers the complete CCDC and CCA document series and Best Practices guides at member prices in paper or electronic format. We stock the most common documents for immediate delivery. (See the complete list HERE.)
Tender Results
Post-tender information such as Low Bids and Awards are updated on the Online Planroom daily, and are also distributed to members by e-mail weekly.
Print Services—Plan Distribution
Need a copy of a drawing or a set of drawings? Plan copy services are available via our Online Planroom.
WCA’s goal is to help you stay current, and to assist you and your staff with new developments in the industry. We offer courses and seminars in the following areas:

• Contract Law, Claims, Disputes
• Construction Safety through our Construction Safety Association of Manitoba
As the Gold Seal Certification (ICI) agent in Manitoba, WCA will assist your company personnel in achieving this prestigious designation. Training is provided in convenient, half-day sessions and online. Courses are developed by WCA or through training partnerships with Red River College and Assiniboine Community College.
